Caring for the Elderly in The Netherlands

In Amsterdam, Danielle Smissaert has taken it upon herself to aid the elderly population during the current COVID-19 pandemic. During the day, she works as a banker. However, during her off time, she delivers groceries to the elderly that are unable to leave their homes because of the current situation. Her volunteering, though informal and not through any organization, has made a lasting impact on the community around her. For Danielle, volunteering is a concrete way for her to give back to the community and help fight the ongoing pandemic.
