Caring for Vulnerable Children in Jordan
In Jordan, an organization called SOS Children’s Villages Jordan exists which works to care for over 30% of orphaned and vulnerable children in Jordan who lack parental care. It aims to provide the children they care for with accommodation, education, skills, protection, social inclusion, food security, physical health, livelihood, and social and emotional well-being. Here, a volunteer named Bisher, 62, devotes his time to help the youth plan their life ahead for after they graduate in order to become self-reliant and independent. So far, he has helped develop plans for 9 successful youth, who graduated from the youth houses to continue developing their future. Using his lived experiences and the wisdom he has gained in his life of over 60 years, he shares his insights in order to help the youth have a successful life.
