Digital Inclusion and Youth Empowerment in the Philippines
In Cebu, Passerelles Numériques Philippines (PNPh), a French association, provides a 2.5-year IT training program for underprivileged youth, with a strong focus on empowering young women. The program offers comprehensive support, including housing, meals, healthcare, and soft skills training. Deployed as part of the collaboration with the French association La Guilde, in relation with France Volontaires, International Solidarity Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting students’ academic and personal development. Since 2009, 803 students graduated thanks to PNPh’s program, and 96% are now employed in the IT sector. The entry-level salaries have increased fourfold, and all students were employed within two months after their graduation. This approach ensures access to dignified employment and sustainable livelihoods.
