Training and Mentoring for Local Development and Growth in India
As part of the "Support the Development of Local Entrepreneurship and Livelihoods", several French volunteers went to India to carry out their mission in Marian College Kuttikkanam. This institution is committed to education and social development and pursues various initiatives aimed at mobilizing the community and promoting social progress. This initiative aligns with the principles of decentralized cooperation, emphasizing capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and France Volontaires’ community-driven development. The mission is developed through a collaborative framework involving Marian College Kuttikkanam, France Volontaires, and the French association – AIME (International Association of Mobilization for Equality), with the goal of empowering local entrepreneurs and promoting socio-economic resilience.
As part of their mission, the volunteers help support local entrepreneurship, igniting sustainable livelihoods and fueling robust economic growth in communities. They provide training, mentoring and access to resources to small-scale entrepreneurs, women, and youth and help coordinate activities, sharing best practices and building bridges between French and Indian stakeholders. By promoting decent work opportunities and driving inclusive economic development, they participate in the achievement of SGD 8.
