Promoting Safe COVID-19 Health Practices in Guinea-Bisseau

In Guinea-Bisseau, the COVID-19 pandemic has increased disparities and left communities vulnerable. The local subset of UNICEF (United Nations Childrens Fund) has shifted its efforts in Guinea-Bisseau to promote and advocate for safe health practices in the face of the pandemic. In the remote community of Sintchan-Fanca, teenagers Ramatulaı Seidi, Djenabu, Assanato, and Cadidjato are active participants in the UNICEF program Adolescent Girls Education Empowerment and Participation Project. They focus their efforts on remote and rural communities like their own and promote healthy COVID-19 protocols, such as handwashing and mask wearing, by going door-to-door and communicating with residents.
